I pretty much always shoot in raw. This hawk is 1 of a pair which has been flying around the same area the past few days. I believe they are setting up a nest somewhere close. With a little bit of luck I'm planning on getting the pair flying together. Which is easier said than done.

Found this eagle in Colorado Springs to photograph today. The portrait style pic of the eagle has been highly cropped & sharpened in post to show the nictitating membrane over the eye.

Not exactly photos, but on Sunday a friend and I got bluff charged by a mama bear with two cubs northeast of Crawford. We think one of her cubs was injured in the encounter since it began screaming and didn't stop. I took some videos after we'd gotten a safe distance away.

Video of the cub screaming (turn your sound up, better with headphones):

Video of the mama running around angrily:

Prob not hurt. It is a distress call. I've seen cubs do this before and it does always look like there is something seriously wrong. But I don't think so.

This photo reminds me of the cautionary tale of "The Spider & the Fly".
