Check your fluids after you finish your hike.

I was at the Harvard TH and smelled differential oil. It doesn't take much to crack a transfer case or rear pinion seal.

The extra walking from the low-clearance parking is about two miles or 45 minutes each way.
It is a fairly flat walk, part woods, part in meadows.

I did Huron on June 17th of this year and I saw a number of Subaru's at the 4WD trailhead along with a couple of CRV's. As long as you have some driving skill and a careful you will be fine.
