Yes this is what I thought was weird. No one checks when you get there and you don't need to print it out...so how could they ever give you a ticket? Just to be safe I also printed my day pass out when I was up there in July.

But directly from their website in the FAQ section:
Q: Do I need to print and display my reservation?
A: Overnight visitors will need to print and display their reservation on the dashboard of their vehicle. Daily and hourly visitors do not need to print their reservation.

Its pretty clear just like in the confirmation email.
