If Conrad and Jenni are no longer together, for whatever reason...who really should care on this forum?
At least the next film Conrad puts out won't be rehashing how their relationship came about because that got played out a lot.
I care. Mostly because I appreciate anything that distracts me from work and doing anything meaningful with my day.

Also grateful to not hear Conrad repeat the tale about marrying his dead climbing partner's widow (was I the only person disturbed by that?). Kinda reminded me of the love triangle in Pearl Harbor - but maybe I'm getting super off topic because obviously Alex Lowe was actually dead and never came back for Jenni like Rafe did for Evelyn (RIP Alex Lowe).

There’s some dirt on Reddit. I don’t know what to make of that strange story from ‘23, but it appears that Conrad and Jenni are done. (Again, idk anything.)
Like many of you, I grew up devouring the exploits of Alex and Conrad through the pages of National Geographic and Climbing, and was pretty saddened when Alex died. It somehow hit closer to home than the death of a Hollywood celebrity or musician. I went to a slideshow when Conrad found Mallory, read Jenni’s book, even borrowed ice tools from him at the Bozeman Ice Festival. I didn’t find it creepy when Conrad married Jenni. Some buddies of mine said crass things, but to me it felt like an organic love that grew from mutual loss, and he seemed to do right by those three young boys.
I’ve seen all the movies, Meru many times. The problem with living in the public eye, is that you also die in the public eye. Judge if you will, but not too harshly. Our heros are human too.

There definitely needs to be a Missed Connections subforum on here.

AMEN.

I’m interested and I think it’s mountaineering related as Anker has been at the center of some of the biggest stories in mountaineering for the last 30 years. Meru and Torn were great documentaries and I thought Jenni’s book was worth reading. Taking up with a deceased partner’s wife isn’t unheard of in mountaineering even Sir Edmund the most famous climber of all did it though his partner died in a plane crash and not on the mountain with him like Anker and Lowe.

If you’ve seen Torn, the 2021 movie by Max Lowe, Conrad looked pretty bad. He’d had a heart attack in 2016 so perhaps he was still recovering when some of the footage was shot, but you wouldn’t think a “young sweetheart” would be in his future.
