Randy, this news was great to hear and I'm happy for you! Our trip to VB together in '22 stands out as one of my memorable and awe-inspiring trips, even though we didn't get our goal(s) of Trinities.

Early morning weather conspired against us, but at least we got Two and Three consolation prizes, with some decision making confirmation that our pivot on plan was the right call for us!

That's when I met him too! And I saw a blur of hr011242 go by Valerie and me....lol

That encounter with Randy led to us doing other outings together though, thankful for that!

This peak meant more to me than I thought it would! It’s not the peaks it’s the people though.


First, thanks to my moral support crew hangin’ in Stormy Gulch (Valerie, Bob, Jason, & Caroline! That was such a fun trip with all you good people.

Second, thanks to all of you many of whom I met along the way.

Valerie on Carson Pass. I am grateful for your friendship and all the peaks we have done together. Most of all thanks for mentoring me on how to use .gpx tracks!

Darin on Carson Pass. I appreciated the peaks you and I have done together and for salvaging Peaks 2 and 3 that day.

Heather on Carson Pass was most memorable and left an impression on me. Your daily workouts are more than I do in a week!

Dave M on the Deadman traverse and an epic day. Immediate respect for that effort

Will & Corey on Cielo north. You guys are machines

Richard on Cielo south. There are more than just CO mountains and you found them

Randy, I've only known you 10 days (courtesy of Valerie) and she wasn't joking - she's always spoken so highly of you and as a solid climber. Truro two weekends ago with the three of us (you were so lucky haha!!!!), and this last week backpacking with an incredible crew in Stormy Gulch/Nebo Creek was unbelievably memorable and fun! Massive congratulations to you on your Centennial Finisher with Trinity and I'm so glad we could be the smallest part of your welcoming crew back to camp! Cheers to many more summits and 13er adventures! (and weekly fantasy football discussions through 02/14/2027 )
