Kevin Baker wrote:It's looking more and more like John is gonna pull this off if all goes well in the Elks and he shines like I think he is going to. So the remaining schedule could be:

Thurs: Yale, Massive, Elbert, HC
Fri: Pyramid, Bells, Snowmass, Capitol
Sat: Castle, Greys, Torreys
Sun: Bierstadt, Evans, Longs

Wish I had time to number crunch the estimated times, because it's gonna be close! We're proud of ya Homie regardless of what happens! Wish I could have supported him this week.
He also needs La Plata and Huron somewhere in there.

Phill, was just going to write that. Getting to Yale later than expected made this interesting again. It could look like this:

THU-- Yale, Huron, LaPlata, Elbert
FRI-- Elks
SAT-- HC, Massive, maybe Grays/Torreys
SUN-- Maybe G/T, Bierstadt, Evans, Longs

Or

THU-- Yale, HC, Massive
FRI-- Elks
SAT-- Elbert, LaPlata, Huron
SUN-- Front Range

Plus, his Yale pace is objectively slow compared to his others. I hope his health is ok, all racing aside.

I think he does Yale, Huron & La Plata and then Holy Cross before starting the Elks tomorrow. Remember that Holy Cross makes a good "rest" peak given the drive times and is the logical choice before the Elks.

Tuba, good point and I agree. I've been advocating for HC as a rest peak too, so I like your style. That puts Elbert and Massive close together Sat and makes for an efficient drive from Leadville to I70.

I don't think there's any way to do all the Elks in one day. Castle and Conundrum throw a wrench in things. I've been wrong before though.

Chad, in the back of my mind I've agreed, but didn't want to say it. I thought that is why Yale was important yesterday so Castle could be done today or Sat. Still worried too based on his most recent SPOT check, he is at or under 800 ft/hour.

Pretty early in the day for so much cloud cover around Aspen. Hope it doesn't turn into anything.
