My binoculars couldn't make that out unfortunately. If I had to guess I would say they were carrying, based on the rate of travel and that I didn't actually see a dog alongside.

Yes. Great effort by all, whether day or night, or in the rain & snow.djkest wrote: Nice effort by all you guys- very touching how much you guys care, even for "just a dog".

I hope the good news just keeps on comin'!
Mountains cast spells on me - Why, because of the way Earth-heaps lie, should I be Chocked by joy mysteriously; stilled or drunken-gay? Why should a brown hill trail Tug at my feet to go? Why should a boggy swale Tune my heart to a nameless tale Mountain marshes know?

I just saw a post on Facebook from Scott's wife. They have definitely found the pup and are trying to get it and themselves down safely.

Awesome! Hope all goes well and they are able to wrap it up successfully in daylight. Jealous to not have participated myself. But great job to all that did. Phenomenal. Can't wait to hear the stories and see the pictures.

Wow. I'm absolutely stunned by the response to this thread and sit here in my little cubicle in Illinois with a tear in my eye....well done, 14'er'ers!
I truly hope this isn't a case where someone got their dog into terrain over their head and then just abandoned her...that would just make me sick. I've carried my dog down a mountain before.

IIRC, the dog has tags, which means the owner is going to have a real $hit storm on his/her hands very soon, I would think.Leigh wrote:Wow. I'm absolutely stunned by the response to this thread and sit here in my little cubicle in Illinois with a tear in my eye....well done, 14'er'ers!![]()

Never know, the dog could have bolted or the owners could have found themselves in trouble and had to leave her behind to get down safely. They may have been out looking themselves and not known what was going on here.

Re: Dog Found: Mt. Bierstadt!
if the owner made it down the mountain, then there's NO excuse that he didn't get the poor thing some help. part of his punishment should be to sit down at a table with all the searchers and rescuers who had enough empathy to help that suffering dog. a sentence of extreme embarrassment!Hungry Jack wrote:IIRC, the dog has tags, which means the owner is going to have a real $hit storm on his/her hands very soon, I would think.Leigh wrote:Wow. Just got off the phone with Scott, the dog and the whole search party are down safe and sound! He has the pup and is having a vet check her out tonight. We will keep you updated once we find out the sitaution with the owner.
