did these hikers know about homie's quest when you guys were up there?
That would require an awfully patient spouse.Vermont Mike wrote:I may be wrong, but I think it's Teresa Gergen at ~6 years. I'm sure someone else can chime in more accurately.Floyd wrote:Also, what's the 13er speed record?
Sorry to hear, that stinks.ColoradoEd wrote:Just envisioning that Elks run has me crapping in my chair at work.
Interesting question, I think its around 3 or 4 years, held by Teresa Gergen or maybe Gary Swing. I could research that tonight if someone else doesn't beat me too it. No, no one has attempted to do it non-stop like this 14er event, 584 peaks would require a robot.Floyd wrote:Also, what's the 13er speed record?
That's what I'm thinking he'll have to do Phil. Probably only two more peaks possible today if he can only hit the pace he did on Yale. It might as well be Huron and La Plata, though Elbert/Massive today would be the other possibility. That makes Saturday a very tough day after a brutal day in the Elks. I can see how this might require no sleep Saturday night other than driving time between trailheads. He would probably have to finish the last of Saturday's peaks in the overnight hours Sat night/Sun morning and then start on the Front Range immediately after arriving.Phill the Thrill wrote:What do you think of this plan?
Remainder of Thursday: Huron/La Plata - drive and sleep
Friday: alpine start for Elks, Capitol/Snowmass/Maroon/N. Maroon/Pyramid
Sat morning: Hit Castle/Conundrum EARLY
Sat afternoon/evening: Elbert/Massive/Holy Cross
Sunday: Grays/Torreys/Bierstadt/Evans/Longs
At least one and possibly several people have hiked all the triple crown trails, Appalachian Trail, Continental Divide Trail and Pacific Crest trail in year's amount of time. It would be something like that. It's just your life's "work" until you are done doing it.dsunwall wrote:Interesting question, I think its around 3 or 4 years, held by Teresa Gergen or maybe Gary Swing.
