Well, I would like to applaud Homie on a job well done! Who knows, maybe he could make another attempt next year?

I suspected that might be the case. Congratulations on a wonderful week Homie! This is something you'll always remember and you have impacted many lives in a positive way. You should be extremely proud of a great attempt, and it's been riveting to watch. Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend with your family, hope your soreness and wounds heal soon. Well done!

Well done, HOMIE!!!! =D> =D> =D> =D> Good for you to stop before risking any major injury. Hopefully whatever pain you are dealing with heals quickly!! You are such an inspiration to all of us!! I have a feeling this is something I am going to remember for a LONG time and will be truely honored if I ever have the chance to run into John "Homie" Prater! Congrats on an AMAZING feat!!! =D> =D> =D>

P.S. Maybe someday in the future once you're all healed, rested, and well...any chance you might just maybe turn that spot back on and let us watch you do that insane Elks traverse???

If this is truly the end, then well done, Homie!

If this isn't the end, then well done, Homie!

Either way, it's been an inspiring ride. Or hike. Or climb. Whatever. =D> =D> =D>

I tip my cap to you Homie. That was a valiant effort. After having not been able to climb all summer, you've made me even more excited to finally get back at it this weekend on Holy Cross.

Thank you!

It is sad to see it end... but i for one am glad that he didn't try to push too hard and have it end bad.

Homie you have inspired us all! And I will never forget this week!

A monumental effort worthy of respect, celebration, admiration, and memory for many years. Homie, thank you very much for inspiring me to do better -- that will be part of your legacy for many who followed you this past week. We are a stronger community and stronger individuals for knowing you, even from afar. Safe travels and I hope you find peace and happiness in your adventures.

Noble effort to say the least... Very inspirational trip. The Crestone report and Jason's pictures were very showing as to what this journey takes. He has entertained a ton of folks here with a little blip on a screen that moved every 10 minutes or so. I hope that we could be let "in" a little more at some point in the near future with some more detail. (especially of what happened on the Wilsons)

Congrats again and keep living your dreams!

All I know, is I have no way to fully comprehend or identify with you Homie. I suspect that is true for all of us (not including you Cave Dog). I think of my few most painful physical and mental moments in my life and ask myself would I have even entertained remotely the thought to climb just ONE fourteener? Thanks Homie for allowing us to watch. And thanks for making the right decision to stop, to be safe and to protect your health and future. I salute you!... and Cave Dog, you too!
