Bravo to the rescuers. And the earlier searchers. All of you who went out of your way to help the helpless are a credit to your species. And all are down safely. Such good news.

turns out my girlfriends coworker has the dog!
Here is what she said...
Yeah the climbers that found the dog were **** and ****, **** is on my team. here is real time. **** just called ***** (he hiked up today to save her). Dog is ok and actually walked down the mtn. She is going to stay with *** and *** tonight and going to the vet tomorrow. It sounds like 2 guys that went up with *** are going to adopt her if no one comes forward. such a happy story:). she is so excited!

i hid the names. i really dont know why but I felt like some privacy for them might be nice.

Awesome job to all the rescuers, you guys/gals are the best. This breaks my heart a little, I was right over there on the 11th hiking Argentine/Wilcox with my dogs. A quick sprint over to the Bierstadt side of the pass and I would have gone up to help in a heartbeat. I'm not expert but I know how to carry a wounded dog. Good luck to everyone and huge cheers to those who took action.

Many heroes in this story. Thanks to all the people involved in the rescue, starting with the OP. I am amazed the dog was able to walk on her own after being without food and water for so many days.

Outstanding! That is wonderful news. Bless you guys.

If the dog's (previous) owner is found - there is at least one of us here who has seen and spoken to him - I really hope he gets a healthy dose of the justice system, or better have a damn good explanation for leaving her up there so long...

I can't imagine surviving up there for a week. Dogs really can be amazing animals.

Kick ass! Only found out about the situation this morning after it was too late for me to head that way. Pretty caring community on here, and that response was pretty stellar - (minus the political BS midway through)

Agree. I am very proud to call Scott and his wife friends and am amazed how many fantastic people there are that contributed to the success of this rescue. Scott has a lot going on in his life right now, and the easy way out would have been to give up after contacting agencies that weren’t able to offer assistance. Thank you for caring and coordinating this effort along with many other fine members of this site.

I sincerely hope that the dog owner is ok or has a very good reason for abandoning their dog (I can’t think of any).

Scotty, you the man!

I am new to this site and can't believe what a great story this is, I don't even live in CO and have never hiked a 14er, who knows maybe I will. This is a great story, (entertaining at times as well). Although animal abandonment is terrible, everyone's committment and passion to saving this Dog has made my day. Kudos to everyone involved, Id be happy to contribute.
