I had no reason to believe a human did that. Could have died of natural causes then eaten away at by wildlife. Or another territorial lion killed it.

Man, I know exactly what you mean. Mountain lions can't die by any other means than criminal poaching! Those ol' rascaly immortal-except-by-evildoing-criminal-mastermind mountain lions. Truly majestic beasts, can't be killed by another mountain lion, or by bears, or disease, or by old age. Just criminals.

MAN, Looks like a poacher took a lion skull for a trophy.

Sure, lions die in the wild for all sorts of reasons, I was just reacting to that photo

If I were the poacher, I would have taken the face with it. But I don't know what poachers are typically after.

Can’t remember if I posted but I found a wedding ring on top of ptarmigan fingers. Men’s. Would love to find the owner.
