I was fortunate enough to be a part of the team of 5 (including Andrew) that summited Longs last night. The mountain did not go quietly into the night as it rained and misted on us for a good deal of the climb, the rock was soaking wet with lots of running water, we were fogged in with as little as 50ft of visibility for most of the upper mountain (THANK GOD FOR BULLSEYES!), snow in the Trough was good, but snow on the Homestretch was 3-6" of fresh mush on top of the slab with some ice. Very fortunate to share the trail with a great group of guys and watch Andrew methodically work his way through the difficulties, even after 9days+ on his feet. Congrats Andrew, and rest up, you've earned it.

We were welcomed at the 11250ft mark by 30-50 people at 2:20am on a weekday, it was an awesome scene for sure. Now back to work on 1.5h of sleep, totally worth it.

I see Andrew's deLorme track on I-270 just east of I-76, 5,102 ft elevation.

What's that? We're not doing that anymore?

It would severely diminish the scale of his accomplishment if he didn't tag the Commerce City highpoint.

Go Andrew!

Congratulations Andrew - first-time REPEAT record holder. I wonder how many professional athletes have had a hiatus of 16 years between championships?

Enjoy the accomplishment, and may the journey be at the top of your deathbed highlight reel in 50 years.

Congrats Andrew, it was fun following along. Now get some rest and give your family/friends a big hug for all the support.
