You then get behind, say a subaru outback (just throwing that out there), who is too whimpy to pass a semi, followed by a subaru forester, followed by a 4runner, and and now you have to pass 4 people instead of just one. It's not really that hard, it's the skinny pedal on the right. But, at night time and if you're not too scurred to pass people, 285 is cruiser driver. Even in my underpowered cruiser. But, no different that the people driving in the left lane on i70. Each has its challenges.
I think the dynamics of traffic - social, psychological, and the physics - are way more complicated than this. An intelligent, responsible, safe driver is a shitty driver by most shitty drivers stretch of the imagination - you can imagine how the psychology can play out from there, which in turn effects the physics of traffic issues and how everyone thinks everyone but them is at fault for traffic. Everyone is at fault for traffic. Though, mostly the Texans.

Though you're right, 285 can get pretty rough if there's more than like 3 people driving on it.
All I read is that you have a "native" bumper sticker on your outback.

Sounds like a good Happy Days episode....how many cars on 285 can The Fonz pass at one time?

BTW, whoever came up with the expression 'Jumped the shark' (or uses it on a regular basis) should be electrocuted.

EDIT: As long as I'm on 285 peeves....how about the a-hole tailgater, when I'm in the conga line of vehicles, and that same a-hole tailgater thinking he has the first right to pass the same line of cars that I want to pass? Don't let me catch any of you multiple passers doing that!!! :cussing:
You snooze you loze. You got to strike when the iron is hot. If you're in the conga and not making the move when you can, that's your problem. I really need to get flames on my 7000# truck with a 4.5l inline 6.

I'm almost certain his record setting was not on 285 though. Driven 285 with that dude quite a few times, and on a few of those I've never been so white knuckled....

I had never heard of this until the other day. And it was in reference to my hometown football team playing in the NFC championship game. Of course, it has little to do with people and their poor driving skills. But, most of your posts add little value and are about what I would expect out of the peanut gallery.

FireOnTheMountain 's photo! =D>

Clearly, that touched a nerve! Dude, seeing as how I was first to reply and your response wasn't really helpful...

I guess I need to up my internet forum game for Conor's approval. :(

Since the pissing match seems to be over. I'll chime in. Take US-285 whenever you can if you have the time. Its far more beautiful then I-70 in general. Though it is busy nearer to Denver. Interstates are intended for you to get somewhere fast. Rural Routes are where American is. Go that way...

285 is way better than I-70. Even with traffic it doesn't feel like a rat race like I-70 does. And I've honestly never had seriously bad traffic on 285 (fingers crossed).

Though if I had a reason not to drive 285, it would definitely be dumbass passes made by oncoming drivers between Jefferson and BV. Honestly some of the most boneheaded maneuvers I've seen. Funny because that's what people are bragging about in this thread...
