Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness Overnight Permits & Parking Passes

Just put a Maroon Zone dispersed camping permit for this weekend (July 22-24) back in the pool.

You have to go to Recreation.gov and search for yourself. What Laura M's post means is that they refunded the permit, and it is thus available to claim on the reservation site - First come, first serve. Permits cannot be (officially) transferred.

Two questions:
I just booked a camping permit for 7/26-7/28 called “The Maroon Zone Small Group Dispersed”.
1) Do I get to camp anywhere in The Zone or just in numbered campsites 1-11?
2) Is there anywhere I can park for free in either Aspen or Snowmass Village and ride the $16 shuttle to Maroon Lake from The Highlands, using free RFTA transfer?

There are no numbered campsites in the Maroon Zone. If there were, you'd have needed to book a specific campsite number - just like for Crater Lake Zone, or pretty much any drive-up campground on rec.gov. This is shown on the reservation site when you select your campsite/zone.

I have an extra permit for the bells parking area starting July 26th. It's a midnight to five pm parking pass if anyone wants it I'll email you directly

Also looking to hike Maroon peak July28th as I have another parking pass and want to hike the peak only. I'll also be coming from Lakewood and have room to carpool.

I'm coming in from out of town August 17-28. I had booked an overnight camping site(s) at Crater Lake - Aug /20/21/22. Visiting with family during this time frame too, and their plans have changed so i'm trying to juggle around some camping times, which obviously is difficult this late. I'm just throwing this out there to see if anyone happened to book a crater lake site and is going to be unable to use it any combination of August 24/25/26. feel free to reply or PM me.

I've been surprised at how accessible walk-in sites at Silver Bell have been this year. I managed to get one on a Thurs night at 5:30pm about 2 weeks ago and another one this morning (Wed) at 11:30am. Each time there were 2-3 sites available. Maybe the covid craze has crested?

I'm also likely to release a parking permit for Aug 9th soon. Day pass. Contingent on a successful summit of N Maroon this week.
