Those are Rose (or Queen's) Crown,.....a cousin of the more prominent, King's Crown.

Glad you were still able to find some blooms and post them here.
Thanks for the ID. They were growing in a flattish area where a stream was flowing so still plenty of moisture. Regarding the early demise of the flowers mentioned in the previous posts, I think we had a low snow year to start with, and then a warmer and drier June and July so I think things never really got up to the peak of some summers. I wasn't up there too often this summer, but that was my impression anyway.
