Wow, I posted a very respectful response to Jon via Instagram and he blocked me. Lol. Apparently, not kissing his ass about things he has done is grounds for a block. That's some pretty thin skin.

Wow. I posted a response to his rebuttal and it's been deleted. I do believe I've been blocked as well. Class act. Should have gotten a screenshot. Anyone have one?

But there's just something annoying about planning a climb, getting in shape, and all the buildup that goes into dragging myself up a couloir to finally reach the top, and then getting on here and seeing somebody basically say, "Now watch me ski this with nary a mention of how I even got up here." You all make me sick "

If he had done so, and religiously documented his skiing trips, being inclusive and bringing people interested in 14er records and skiing into the process, even coming up short, the community here would have been behind him.
I'll go out on a limb and say I don't think Jon particularly cares to engage the Colorado 14er ski mountaineering community.

Bill and Jomah, care to share your rebuttals (or at least the gist)?

This was mine:
@drjonkedski Since you tagged to me in your Instagram post... I never "hated" on you but simply asked you to clarify whether or not you skied Capitol (and previously Pyramid) from the summits since your posts were unclear to many of us. You chose to make this project public so you should expect some requests for clarification from the public. Ski mountaineering is a passion of mine and I have great respect for those who have skied all of the 14ers from the summits - some of them are my friends - so I’m sure you can understand why I asked for clarity. I congratulate you on skiing so many peaks in such a short period of time. The difficulties and dangers of what you have faced, in an unforgiving backcountry, are obvious and I’m glad you made it out safely. I wish you the best in your future endeavors. Stay humble.

It went something like this...

First off, you didn't even answer my question. Was this taken on 6/14/16, the day you posted? Or is it from last year? Second off, did you really summit them all? Your own spot tracks show you never actually reached the top of Pyramid. Lastly, I went to one of your presentations. The one in Golden at the CMC. The only thing I really liked was the cool mountain photos. You called yourself the Indiana Jones of Physical Activity. Even then you failed to answer a question I had as an audience member.

Might have been a tad mean...

According to EXIF data, shot June 4, 2015 at 10:04:43 from 39.150258 degrees N, 107.082925 degrees W on Applie IPhone 6.
But earlier Bean wrote it had a time stamp 6 days prior ...

TallGrass, Jon went up there a couple times to get it last year. He certainly wasn't the first that took multiple attempts to ski Capitol. For that specific instance, I think he just used the photo he felt best represented the outing. By all accounts he was on the summit on June 4, 2015.

Thanks for the info, Bean.

This from JK's Instagram Capitol page reads a bit odd:
drjonkedski@jgeo44 @14erscom @jomahsaurus.rex I never said anything...
drjonkedski, why are you responding to jgeo44 and 14erscom when no message from them appears in your comments?

Wait... now your https://www.instagram.com/p/BGpM8bRuASd/ is returning "Sorry, this page isn't available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed."

Yup, then ranted to those of us who asked him about it, deleted our comments and changed his Instagram account to private. :-"
