What reason would they have to independently research anything when they can get validation for going along with the crowd?

Vote with your emotions.

HUNTING = BAD
GUNS = BAD
Really? We are associating voting for this particular hunting ban with being against the 2nd amendment?? Seems like quite a leap there.

Indeed. What was that he said about voting with emotions? :-s

There are Colorado demographics that harbor resentment towards firearms, and that resentment carries over into hunting as well, nothing new.

I think more mountain lions will result in healthier deer populations. Only the fastest and fittest survive! And being fast and fit means a good diet of native grasses and plants. Not wimpy little snow peas. So let's support our deer populations by getting them healthy and fast. Vote "YES" on 127! Let the kitties weed out the weak.

they did. i heard it on the radio on tuesday and it was completely pathetic.

i'm not surprised, but i am continually disappointed that people choose to ignore the fact that nature is harsh. male mountain lions will kill offspring that isn't theirs in order to mate with females.

it's not all rainbows and butterflies out there, folks. lions are still going to be killed if this prop passes. however the difference, as LURE pointed out earlier, is that your tax dollars will be used to pay people to kill them instead of CPW collecting money from hunters to fill tags. but whatever...

This is partially true, but then taken beyond the playing field. Yes. Mountain lions will kill other mountain lions if competing for territory. Yes. Mountain lions will kill the young of other mountain lions for similar reasons. That said, mountain lions monitor their own numbers. They don't need humans to do it for them. So tax dollars will seldom be needed to regulate their numbers. At least no more so than they are now. Extra tax dollars to regulate them is conjecture and not facts. Its what proponents against the ballot want you to believe, but they have no facts because there is no ban. Just as not needing extra tax dollars is conjecture. No one knows until something changes.

So vote "yes" on 127. Let the snow peas thrive!

Nature is harsh, but modern society generally requires us to avoid killing, raping, and stealing from each other even though there may be natural instincts at play that we have to suppress. So I don't find mountain lions killing other mountain lions to be a good justification for us to go around killing them. Just because it's natural doesn't make it something to aspire to do, especially when you're the most intelligent species on the planet.
