Kimo - Thanks for the compliement, it means a lot! Your work has always inspired me. There are many fine photographers on this forum, as the pictures posted speak for themselves!

Agreed. And thanks again, Mark and Greg. “As a photographer, I’m primarily interested in things I can’t see.” ~ Denver's own Carl Bower

Here is one I took of Wetterhorn. I thought the light play on the peak was fun.

The Dalai Lama when asked what surprised him most about humanity:
“Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

Watanga Lake...... here are the many faces of cool: 8) 8) 8)

Were you aware of this before you took the shot? Or did you just notice it as you looked at it in this orientation? I have a shot with a face I will post later, but this is very interesting and a good choice for B&W with the contrasts of the dark trees. Nicely done.

The reflection of the trees caught my eye. I wasn't aware of the faces when I took the photo. While reviewing the pics last night, this one called out for B&W. After doing the conversion, I thought it looked a bit dry (like the pen plot from a richter scale). So I turned it on its side hoping it would appear like a tree standing up and that's when the animal faces emerged.

I'm loving B&W. It's a technique that I feel I have only started to explore. The ability to isolate form is very attractive (as seen in Matt's kiva photo, Wetterhorn, and many others). B&W also adds poignancy to portraits and a sense of timelessness (as seen in Elkheart's first summit image).

I'd like to see your image of a face. Please post it when you get a chance.
