Not only that - but bison too! Probably should finish what our predecessors started and eradicate those vicious beasts.
Humans kill more humans than all other animals combined, I propose we eradicate all humans.

SkaredShtles wrote: Fri Dec 08, 2023 10:56 am You know what has killed 2 people since 1981? Coyotes
You know what lives in the greenbelt right next to my house? Coyotes
You know what I don't irrationally fear? Coyotes

So please - continue to wax poetic about how peoples' irrational fear of wolves is not irrational.
Great point! We want to respect the scary creatures and live with them and not fear them. Euro-centric folklore and mainstream media don't include coyotes. You're not scared of coyotes because they haven't done anything to you or anyone. The Old World is filled with wolf attacks and myth. European wolves have found it easier to eat garbage than deer. How long will it be until wolves figure that out in Colorado? The bears in the mountains have figured it out, too. People fear wolves because of stories and tales.
So you're saying the fear of wolves *is* irrational?
Aren't all fears irrational? If you're trying to get me in a gotcha by comparing your greenbelt neighborhood coyotes to a wild wolf, I will not agree to that comparison. How about wild wolves in the greenbelt compared to wild wolves in my mountain neighborhood. Good comparisons.

Common sense solutions for the uncommon era. Vote for me, the nihilist, November, 2024. I promise to end all of humanity's problems by the simple solution of making humanity extinct! Can't have any problems if you're dead!

I want to live a little longer.
But I might vote for you anyway.

Think about it this way: a vote for someone else is a vote for, at best, a few more years of agonizing suffering, and at worst a prolonging of that suffering. A vote for me is a vote for an eternity of restful peace. I'll throw in a pony for those remaining years of suffering if you promise to vote for me.

I must say... you make a compelling argument.

But...

OK, OK, two ponies? That's twice as good. Final offer.

People pay to walk with wolves down in Colorado Springs. There’s probably a way to monetize this for someone smarter than myself…

It is like saying the oil rig or landfill or airport or power plant or refinery needs to go in your backyard. It is the argument, "As long as it is not in my backyard, it is fine." The people impacted are concerned. The people not impacted or wanted this service belittle the impacted residents when they share their concerns. You don't have wolves in your greenbelt, so my and my community's concerns and fears are irrational. I shouldn't be concerned because you're not dealing with it. I am wrong and have this irrational fear and have nothing to be concerned about because coyotes in a greenbelt are not dangerous.
