Waldorf Mine

Post by Fabio 49 »

I haven't seen an update on the road or the trailhead in a few months and am curious how the road faired the recent rains.

Anyone with recent updates or past experience would be helpful!

Thanks

I doubt the rain would have much bearing on the state of the road: It's rocky and often wet (but still bikeable!). I haven't been there in a few years but it's a cool area to explore.

I was up there about a month ago to hike Edwards from that side. The road seemed fine to me. The hardest parts were on the lower portion of the road but it was still passable in a stock 2003 4Runner. It felt like it took FOREVER to get back there though, the road is consistently rough and keeps you moving pretty slow until you get up to Waldorf. Have fun! :-D
