Grizzly Reservoir
Wondering how far I could get up Lincoln Creek Road to Grizzly Reservoir in my stock 2017 Rav-4. I’d ideally like to get to the drainage below Truro lake, but I’m fine walking the road if I could get to grizzly. Any advice appreciated!

Re: Grizzly Reservoir
You will have zero issue getting to the reservoir. I got my 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe up to Truro without issue last year in July. Vehicle is stock except for BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A tires. There are plenty of places to park after the reservoir, if you get uncomfortable.

Re: Grizzly Reservoir
I was just up at the TH for Anderson Lake trail on 7-9-23 in a stock 1997 4Runner. The road up to Grizzly Res should be no problem in a RAV4. As the road heads up around the private property & into the Portal CG it gets a bit rougher. Past the Portal CG are a few sections that would not be easy without high clearance. Take note of the wide spots in the road in case you will need to back up & start the booting. On a related note - there isn't a very defined creek crossing for accessing the Truro group of peaks & surrounding lakes. Hopefully, this helps. Good luck & let us know how it goes!

Re: Grizzly Reservoir
Thanks so much for the information everyone! This is a fishing trip for me, so I’ll spend the first day at Truro and Jack lakes, then head down to the New York Creek trail to backpack the two unnamed tarns in Brooklyn Gulch. It’s my first time stopping around independence pass rather than driving through, so I can’t wait.
