COMO LAKE ROAD QUESTION

Post by ltlFish99 »

How far is it from 8,800 on the COMO LAKE ROAD TO THE LAKE.
The site states 7.5 miles from the bottom, and 3.25 miles to 8,800 that will put one within 4 miles of the lake.
But 7.5 minus 3.25 is 4.25.
Just curious as to how far it actually is, so I can figure out total round trip from 8,800 to Ellingwood point and back.
Thanks

Starting from the parking at 8,800', just within the USFS boundary, it's just shy of 4.25 miles to reach Lake Como.

Starting at 8,800', hiking the standard route on Ellingwood is just over 7 miles one-way, so plan on ~14.25 miles round-trip.
