L&F at Grape Creek TH (entry point for Music Pass)

Post by sparnell »

Any trail angels out there? First-time O/N backpacker and Sangre de Cristo summiter left her fairly new boots (size 10 Oboz) at the vault toilet site of the Grape Creek TH on our return. We didn't realize until we got home. We are from E. KS, so no returning to the site to check. If found please message me and I'll pay for shipment to return. Grape Creek TH is the entry point for Music Pass (on our way to Marble Mountain). Can someone please help?

We live in Westcliffe. I'll run down there this afternoon. Are they right next to the vault or just the general parking area?

I went up to the TH on 8/11/24 at around 1:00pm. No boots nowhere to be found. Checked all the camping areas, the road, the Rainbow trail and parking area. Unfortunately there's a lot of traffic at this location. I'm sure somewhere walked off with them within a few of them being there. Sorry.

Thanks to people that looked (or volunteered to do so). I hope they were found by someone that checks the forums, or someone that really needed them!

It is the San Luis valley after all.

Wrong. It's the Wet Mountain valley.

There is a Sangre De Cristo hiking FB page. You Might want to post there? When I checked the area there was 6 cars parked there and 1 group went through on their ATV's on the Rainbow. This area sees a lot of traffic.
