|Range:||Sangre de Cristo|

Dry all up and down the peak. Some loose rock on ascent from the Herard/Medano saddle and some on the north ridge descent towards 12,883. Super neat rock up 12,883 but nothing harder than Class 2. We descended 12,883's east ridge for a ways then went straight south, staying on the east/descender's left side of a trickling drainage. The descent was steep and covered in loose pine needles but not bad and took us right to the trail.
