As if none of us have ever come back with a cool, quasi-epic story instead of being victim to tragic rockfall, a fatal stumble, a heart attack, an embolism, a lightning strike, a bear attack, collapsing cornice, some psycho with an axe, a falling tree, carbon monoxide, even falling asleep at the wheel getting to a mountain. If you can't accept the fact that sometimes "s**t happens", then you live with the illusion that your epic genius and profound wilderness intelligence has put you in total and complete control of yourself, your partners, and the mountain. How mystified you'll be when "s**t happens" to you! - FM

I am so torn.

I'd like to recommend that you guys put him on your foes list so you don't have to read his posts and you guys don't keep cluttering up threads with your constant butthurt (to use his terminology), but on the other hand the way The Baron so effortlessly and unflappably deconstructs you guys... it's like art...
I'm torn on how to make sense of this non sequitor. My conclusion has been to imagine your understanding of logic is constructed from school yard arguments and your art defined by maddox.

I actually enjoy conversing with the Baron, as he enjoys baiting fans of First Ascent.
I see no reason
why our dear Baron's wisdom
should ever be forgot.
Continuing to spread his wisdom on:
Rock Climbing, Climbing Shoes, Rappelling, Layering, Eddie Bauer (nice try), Pants, Helmets, Ropes, Ice Axes, Tri-Cams, Carabiners

The narrator is Tyler Durden
Bruce Willis was dead the whole time.

I hope I ruined something for you, too.
So now who's butthurt? I hope you are wearing your tear-proof rain jacket.

And I hope it is from an acceptable brand and purchased from an acceptable merchant. Or there will be hell to pay.

I have been crying all over my Patagonia M10 jacket all morning. It is a good thing that the 3 waterproof layers, the slim harness-compatible fit and the hood (that fits over my mask) is so well-built, good looking and compact that I can take it anywhere and wear it without worrying about a fashion emergency. Later if I decide to go rock climbing then I will be prepared for a sudden rainstorm (although my feelings are SO hurt I do not think I could crush as normal).
