He'll have to get down below 11,255' to finish.

As both of you were with him, how is he eating? And moresoe.....what is he able to stomach at this point? If i remember correctly, when he did Hardrock a couple years ago....stomaching food became an issue for him. Staying fueled for an endeavor like this has to be nearly impossible and I'm just curious what he's able to handle at this point.

dwight...i agree...he's done enough at this point and if he stops, he'll still have accomplished a great feat.

Hey Pete. Good question. He's been eating really well and frequently. Lots of clif bloks and applesauce on the trail. Loads of cold pizza, chimichangas and chocolate milk when back with the crew. He has a squeeze water filter with him so he's using that on the longer pushes.

Jason, Tom, Eric,

Cool...thanks for the input. I'm glad to hear he can handle real food at this point. Its a poor comparison...but on the Triple Bypass....i found fueling with real food really helped vs. just gu-type gel's and banana's. But while moving on the trail, I can see the bloks and applesauce working really well. Easy to eat and fairly lightweight.

Does he almost have it down to a science regarding what food(and how much) he carries with him on each section....so as to carry as little weight as possible?

Pete

Damn!

This thread is getting harder and harder to keep up with...

You miss a few hours and it takes a few more just to catch up....

If Homie makes it up to the summit of Longs just before 1am, he should wrap himself in carpet foam and duct tape and throw himself down the trough couloir, that'll get him a 3000 foot descent very quickly. If he hucked the east face, that's only 2,000 feet to Mills Glacier, so it wouldn't count.

Jason,

Excellent pics from what is indeed a very memorable day for both you & Homie. Man, you are a wonderful friend to Homie to take off work and drive up there to put in a long day with him. Well done! I am sure he appreciates your effort & companionship more than he could ever say. I know I would.

Cheers!

Jason-
Nice pics and good effort keeping up with Homie and providing moral support. Thank you for sharing them with us.
