Interesting question, I think its around 3 or 4 years, held by Teresa Gergen or maybe Gary Swing. I could research that tonight if someone else doesn't beat me too it. No, no one has attempted to do it non-stop like this 14er event, 584 peaks would require a robot.
Not sure how long Gary Swing took - he doesn't have his dates validated in LOJ, and his first & last aren't listed on Gerry's site.

Looks to me like Teresa took 6 Years and 1 day. Her first 13er was Aububon back in 1996, but she repeated it in 2004, before her completion on 9/11/05.

I played with this a little bit, and the smallest window I could find where Teresa climbed each of the 637 ranked 13ers & 14ers at least once, started on 9/10/99 when she climbed Castle Peak (which she didn't repeat until 2007), finishing with UN 13001 on 9/11/05.

Sarah and I both took about 8 years - not sure if I'm missing anyone else.

I will probably never meet you or any of your support staff but I don't think I will ever forget this. But for those few days in August 2012 when everything that is right about the world and an unmatched human spirit was on display in the Colorado Rockies. Soldier on my "friend"

=D> This couldn't be better said! It seems like there are not any "pure" sports left in the world, pure displays of human athletic and mental ability. We are so easily satisifed with football players running around for 60 minutes and getting paid millions of dollars (and I do love me some football!), but displays like this just serve to remind us of what is still pure and wild. I think we all feel a little bit of this when we are out there on those mountains, as we fight that incredible urge to give up, and then breath the fresh elixir gaining that summit and just being out in the wild.

Keep rocking Homie!

To those in touch with Homie and the support crew:

Looks like I am heading to the Elks tomorrow and am willing/able to bring items to the team. I can get food (a pizza wrapped chicken sandwich perhaps?), gear (replacement hot pink socks?), beer (for the support crew)... whatever might be needed. I will send out a few PMs to people who are obviously in contact with the team, but I wanted to post here as well to get the word out. We won't get to the area until around 6-7 p.m., and our destination is Maroon Lake, but I'll drive to wherever the crew is to drop stuff off.

Worry if it is Homie or just a computer thing.

it's not homie otherwise we'd see plots every 10 min not moving. the SPOT signal is just messing up which could be trees/terrain
That valley/canyon coming out of Denny Creek must be hard for reception/transmission as there were no points going up either.
This is my concern, as I think he should have been out by now. Again, hope his health is doing well.

I recall Teresa Gergen climbing 199 13ers in one summer, and Gary Swing topping that soon after.

Regarding a speed record, TG acknowledged that any 13er speed record is more a function of circumstances regarding obligations to work and family.

I think SarahT has the record for the youngest to finish the 13ers, but Furthermoe might be on pace to break that record.

Does anyone who's helping Homie have info on what's next? The SPOT seems to be off and so does the stream of info. :-k

Cool...at least we know he is out and ok. I suspect that's all we know right now.

So Huron and La Plata remaining for today?

That leaves Castle, Elbert, Massive, and Holy Cross for Saturday... is that doable? Sounds like another long day! This is about to start getting intense in the next day or two!
