working at home has its advantages, as in not having to look "professional" in an office setting. Shaving usually happens when I start to get annoyed at how long it gets
I usually shave the goatee off at the end of September and start growing the beard around October 1. I keep it for about 6 or 7 months and then go back to the goatee. (My wife doesn't like me sans facial hair...)
I normally trim mine every other week or so, but on occasion I let it go for a month. Any longer than that and the manliness becomes overpowering. Winter is a great time for lazy shaving habits because there's nothing more guaranteed to attract women than a snot-stache.
“There are two kinds of climbers: those who climb because their heart sings when they’re in the mountains, and all the rest.” - Alex Lowe
"There have been joys too great to describe in words, and there have been griefs upon which I cannot dare to dwell; and with those in mind I say, 'Climb if you will, but remember that courage and strength are nought without prudence, and that a momentary negligence may destroy the happiness of a lifetime. Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end.'" - Edward Whymper
Fun Fact:
When passing another climber on the trail the man with the lesser beard must always yield right-of-way to the man with the more impressive beardaclava
To climb is to push yourself in a way you might not normally imagine is possible. If your stamina, skill, and luck are sound you will get to stand on top. ... I realized that with climbing, I'd found something that nourished my soul and could forge me into a better version myself - Jim Davidson
