Looks like he's off the Ophir road and over Lizard Head pass already. Zoom!

Anyone know what his plan is to link Lindsey to the Blanca group?

Also will he do Wetterhorn (Matterhorn Creek) to Unc and then descend down Nellie Creek?

The direct route is Gash Ridge, but that's somewhat hard. I'd go south on Blanca's S Ridge about 0.5 miles and then drop down an easy (but very loose!) gully to Winchell Lakes, then just contour across to Lindsey. This is what CD did.

A little unanticipated weather moving in. The link below isn't so bad at projecting out precipitation, but like all models, it ultimately comes down to probabilities.

The Delorme sounds like the BMW to the SPOT's Honda.

This is happening the same time as The Tour Divide (trackleaders) and the Trans Am(trackleaders) Bike Races. You all hate me.

Andrew refers to himself as slow -- but that's a pretty solid pace he's laying on El Diente, particularly after tagging the Eolus group this morning.

Go Andrew!

Here is an article on 9news. I guess they don't proofread much, the second paragraph doesn't make any sense. Plus he is not doing a self powered 14er attempt.

Sorry to chime in again but I left out a part of the tracking details when you're following along on the map. when you first get to the his map click on "Users List" then to the left of the last time updated you click on the right pointing triangle ▶ and that brings up his Track summary and message history. Clicking on the arrow will also unlock the locate feature and the center button to center the map on his current location

Curious to see how much elevation he choses to drop while bypassing Gladstone to get to Wilson Pk.

For those of you who know the Wilson Group, is it possible to stick between 12800-13000 around the top end of Navajo Basin?

We had a nice little storm come through earlier this afternoon (dusting of snow above treeline). However, the wind is (almost) gone and the skies are mostly clear. SJ Ron :)

Heh, stealing my thunder, Andrew. ;)

Looks like they're doing a great job updating their blog! Great shots of the family/friends all happy. Sure those smiles will only grow after each passing day ;)

Andrew is about to finish the El Diente -> Mt. Wilson traverse as I type! We'll see if he goes for Wilson Peak tonight - I'd assume, yeah? Got about two hours of daylight left. Go Andrew!

Wilson traverse done, with a little daylight left before heading to Wilson Peak.

I haven't been on it, but my understanding is that that ridge is super loose and sketchy. It'll be much safer to just drop into the basin and head up the trail to the Rock of Ages saddle. That would drop him to about 12,400', sacrificing 500' in exchange for solid trail. Especially with it starting to get dark, probably faster to stay on trail anyway.
