As most of us here know, he could not have better company for this leg of his journey and I suspect Homie will be a great motivator.

I've been giving a few minutes of thought to contemplate the incredible effort that is required to undertake this quest. It absolutely blows my mind how far human beings can push the envelope! We all know how much effort it is to climb a single 14er -- and often how sore we are afterwards. Back in the day when I was training for the Pikes Peak marathon, I would run 14er approaches and be very pleased after one (or two or three) summits, and then be happy to have a week to recover! It is difficult for me to imagine the level of fitness that is required to climb so many peaks day after day. I honestly don't understand how a body can recover enough between successive climbs in such a short amount of time to sustain that level of effort -- to me, it seems simply superhuman. "Awesome" is an over-used adjective, but I am totally in awe of what Cave Dog, Homie, and Bad Dad have accomplished!

We need a 2nd thread for this with just the facts, timeline, peaks bagged, etc. Maybe a compare and contrast to Cave Dog and Homie's runs as well.

It's getting way to hard for parse the information with all the riff raff (myself definitely included) chiming in.

considering the huge gap (in both time and distance) between the locations transmitted by his DeLorme, I am very curious as to what happened to it ??
Did it run out of batteries, or was there some other sort of interruption caused by something unknown in the system?

Oh, and yes, this is insane !!

My guess is he shut it off on the road to save juice. Maybe wasn't charging fast enough. I have a Sendy 2600mah charger along if out for more than 2 days, that thing is great. He may get by with just vehicle charging however. I'm sure he wanted over 50% for the stones trip.

From Andrew's Website:

"Our beloved Andrea managed to get the Cielo Vista Ranch to give Andrew until 7am!!!!!!! Just texted his satellite tracker, his response was “relief.”

Was wondering if spare vehicle could be used to do that. Cool!
