Wow! What a story! Hopefully nothing like that today.

Under three hours to the needle, and closing in on crestone peak now. Impressive.

This is great news! They have just completed the Crestone Traverse. If it takes 9 hrs to complete the route (Peak-Carson-Challenger-Bears Playground-Humboldt-Upper TH) they would arrive back to the TH around 3 am. From there I'm not sure but it looks like approx 3 1/2 hrs to Cielo Ranch, which would be around 6:30 am. Gonna be close!

On E. Crestone (not Andrew). Andrew probably could have had better company today, as I had trouble keeping up. He's headed to KC/Challenger on his own. I'll meet up with him on his way back to Humboldt. He's moving well, seems to be feeling well. Perfect weather.

Curiousity question: After Challenger, will Andrew head down to the Willow Lake TH or back to SCL TH ? Seems like Willow, but just curious either way.

Edit: I see now the blog says SCL. Sorry.

After KC/Challenger Andrew will return via Bears Playground to get Humboldt, then head down to the South Colony Lakes TH.

James (aka Mule Bitch), great that you checked in! Good luck and stay safe on that road and especially that dirt bike!

James is the driving force behind Andrew's speed record attempt!

Exciting! Thinking about how pumped Bad Dad is going to be when he hits the Bear's Playground on the return, IN SPITE of what has to be unreal levels of exhaustion. Humboldt may fall in silly-fast time due to adrenalin and the payoff of a 3 hr car ride.

He just summitted Challenger a few minutes ago, and we're into twilight. Decision time, the next track point should be interesting....
