19 minutes behind schedule for little bear. And wtf is that route up it? Surely that can't just be GPS error...

Is that not just the NW face? I haven't climbed that route, but it seems to be the general area.

Agreed, I think that's the NW face route: http://www.summitpost.org/little-bear-n ... face/43048" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here's a trip report with some pics of the NW face of Little Bear and the traverse to Blanca:

This is so amazing to follow -- I still can't wrap my brain around how fast he's moving. Thanks to everyone for sharing details! Makes it hard to do homework, but this is by far much cooler. Safe climbing for Andrew, major kudos to all of those who have already climbed these peaks, and all of the folks helping him out along the way!! Cheering from Indiana!

Yeah its the NW face route, nice gulley, pretty solid rock. I would MUCH prefer doing that route dry vs an icy/snowy Hourglass having done them both.

I'm curious if he actually missed Blanca or if it was a GPS error. Wouldn't surprise me if he did, as I'm gonna assume he retags Blanca, descends the Gash to Lindsey, that would save him a TON of time on Cave Dog who did Lindsey separately if I recall.

Eric, that threw me for a loop too, then I looked on his itinerary... He is planning to return to Blanca and then do the Gash Ridge. Absolutely incredible!

Andrew's plan was to to reach Blanca Peak, 14er #23 in less than 4 days, at 5:20 pm. His actual time: 5:22 pm. Amazing!

Descend the gash? Are you nuts? He will go down the south ridge. Homie did the same thing I believe. It's the most practical and quickest way to link Lindsey from there.

LOL. It's all good Eric. I didn't really mean for my post to come off as highbrow or anything, reading it a second time I might have come off as kind of a jerk, didn't mean it that way.

I've been waiting below Gash Ridge. I see 2 descending. Ryan with him? Had snow/graupel as they descended Gash for 15 minutes! I'm out of superlatives for Andrew.
