The first rule of anyone doing something this crazy in the future: 1. Your crew must be as tough and dedicated as you! Bad Dad's crew qualifies and is setting the standard for toughness! SJ Ron :)

Lots of healing thoughts for Andrea and her recovery. Sounds pretty scary! His crew is definitely bad a$$! Nice to meet you all at the ROA trailhead. Be safe out there and keep on keeping on!

Hope Andrea is feeling better. Deer just don't seem to comprehend roads & vehicles. We clipped a deer in our Jeep on a foggy night. Fortunately only minor damage and I'm sure the deer was sore afterwards. There are so many things that have to come together for an attempt like this to be successful. Hopefully the crew can rally and Andrew can keep going.

OK, been out of the loop for 18 hours or so due to a quick run up Princeton. (Side note...did 1800 vert in an hour on the road and it damn near blew me up for the rest of hike...no idea how he does it over and and over).

Why is his Delorme showing him in between Antero/Princeton and not down at Shav/Tab? Change of plans?

Perhaps he will do Antero, Tab, Shav and then use the extra drive time for a bit of a rest prior to Princeton and yale?

Looks like he's cruising right up Antero. These guys (Andrew, Homie, CD, etc.) are amazing athletes! I also love seeing the camaraderie here and on the trail. Pretty darn good even when observing from the couch @ 1000'.

Dang. I guess I completely missed Pikes Peak. Kinda feel bad for sleeping last night. Hard to imagine going and going and going...just amazing. Go Hammer!

He topped Pikes at 6:25 AM, +35 (-90) minutes from schedule. So about an hour was lost, probably in the drive and maybe due to the deer incident. If he spent that time sleeping though it was likely not a significant loss.

The schedule for today (Day 5):
  • Pikes 5:50 AM (6:25 / +35)
  • Shavano 12:30 PM (Antero - 1:00 / +30)
  • Tab 1:20 (4:07 / -8)
  • Antero 5:05 (Shavano - 4:45 / -20)
  • Princeton 10:20 PM (9:46 / -34)
  • Yale 3:50 AM
He's doing Shav-Antero backwards, but I'll make up +- numbers for them anyway.

She still looks beautiful! Glad you weren't too badly hurt Andrea. Wishing you a quick recovery and good pain meds!

Go Andrea! Way to represent the tough women of 14er mountaineering!
