Just curious, is your wife's story the same one I read about in a magazine once? 5280 or Backpacker or something, I recall...not exactly sure.

Anyways, I've just put your book on my list of "Must Reads"...I'm interested, for sure.

Thanks so much for your interest. Yes Bill - Melissa was in Backpacker Magazine's Survivor Edition and folks might have also heard her on CPR's Here's What Happened to Me program with Ryan Warner. Hope to meet you at one of the events to raise $$$ for our outdoor NPOs.

Thanks for the kind words Bill. Glad you enjoyed! We just got our mountain town tour all finalized - Crested Butte, Telluride, Grand Junction, Edwards, Buena Vista and Steamboat in June. The BV event will benefit Chaffee County SAR (all others at the local book stores).

Just finished this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great read! Cheers Richard
The summit is a source of power. The long view gives one knowledge and time to prepare. The summit, by virtue of the dizzying exposure, leaves one vulnerable. A bit of confidence and a dash of humility is all we get for our work. Yet to share these moments with friends is to be human. C. Anker
