So I am thinking of heading up to McNasser to tackle Grizzly Peak A this weekend.
We had to abandon Spread Eagle Peak just 300 feet from the summit last weekend due to storms and I am itching to grab a Difficult Class 2 before the end of the season.
I have heard/read many mixed reviews of how borked the trailhead is. I would be driving a stock Volvo XC70 from 2001. Am I likely to be wrecking my undercarriage if I take the car that way?

Did it a couple weeks ago in a stock but slightly lifted Tundra. Glad of it! 391 was very potholed but doable at a slow speed in a vehicle like yours. I wouldn't take it up 394 and in reality it doesn't save you much time as the drive up is awfully slow in anything. Take the ridge down to Garfield if the weather cooperates. Doesn't add much time and the route is easy enough - brief 2+ or 3-. Enjoy! TT
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted....
Thank you both so much!! I really appreciate the advice!! I will make sure to review that trip report and I will definitely avoid going down 394 as apparently my feet are far faster.

I took my 2013 Outback up to the upper TH a couple weeks ago. There was a Forester up there too. There was a tough section a half mile before the upper TH (end of the road), and a pot-holed area about 2 miles from the start of the road. I took it slow and didn't have any issues at all. In hindsight, I may have wanted to park at the lower TH mentioned in some of the reports and walked to the upper TH, as it may have been a little quicker.
