Re: Fire Bans
It looks like we have another Stage 3 restriction, or equivalent--this time it is on BLM lands. <https://www.blm.gov/sites/blm.gov/files ... 281%29.pdf>

Re: Fire Bans
Looks like Durango-area BLM lands only affected by new Stage 3 restriction.

Re: Fire Bans
Bump! More new fires across the state the last few days and more fire restrictions enacted.
Stage 2 just took effect in Eagle County on Friday and all the local public fireworks displays are cancelled. Stage 2 in Garfield, Pitkin and Summit counties as well. White River National Forest remains under Stage 1 but may up it to Stage 2 soon, so if you plan on camping/hiking in Holy Cross, Eagles Nest, Flattops or Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness don't plan on having a fire! If you are using a camp stove keep it a minimum of 3' from vegetated areas and no smoking outdoors. Also, you cannot park your vehicle on vegetation and must be either in a designated parking area of no more than 10 feet off a designated road way in non-vegetated areas only. I know those 14er trailheads get crowded, but keep the vehicles off the grass please.
Thanks and have a safe holiday

never thought I'd see Fugazi quoted on a 14ers site

Nice, that's good to know. I was meaning to look to see if the USFS would lift stage 1. The County Commissioners lifted their ban yesterday.planet54 wrote:A story by the Summit Daily News reports that the White River National Forest will be lifting Stage 1 fire restrictions at 12:01 am this Friday.
