If you park at Grizzly Gulch turnoff, it's probably a 30-40 minute walk from there to the TH. In all likelihood, this is not much longer than the time you'd need to negotiate your Corolla up the road - not to mention the possible risk of damage and/or getting stuck. Just something to consider.

We just went up the road. I found that my minivan could make it up the first mile, to the small parking area. There is no way I could have made it the last 2 miles in my low clearance vehicle.

I ended up making it 1.3 miles up the road before I started getting nervous, and pulled off a little bit after the Y junction. Just woke up an extra 45 minutes before I was planning on it and headed up the road - not too bad! Had no trouble making some friends on the way back who dropped me off at my car, so it was only a 1-way hassle.
I do remember thinking I might've been able to make it at least to 2 miles up, but things got super sketchy after that.
