Currently trying to decide if trying to tackle one of the Front Range peaks is even worth it in these conditions.

I’m doing the Slacker Half Marathon tomorrow - starts in Loveland’s parking lot and goes down to Georgetown. I’ve already got the ski garb and microspikes in the front seat just in case!

Oh, and the A-Bay info in that article is already a wee bit behind the times. I got an email from them yesterday stating that they’ll be open next weekend as well.

Is anyone on here willing to share advice on where I could fairly easily access some well covered, high elevation backcountry terrain early tomorrow around Steamboat? Private message me if you dont want to spew :-D

Now up to almost 19" as of 2am Saturday. There are going to be a bunch of out-of-state summer vacationers at Steamboat who aren't going to be all that thrilled this weekend.

I am in Snowmass Village this morning and there is a fresh snow dusting. A couple more inches expected Saturday night.

I counted 11 fresh avalanche chutes on the Maroon Bells road and Crater Lake trail, about four times I usually see. The most impressive fresh chute is just west of the La Plata trailhead on 82.
