most of my goals are carryovers from 2020:
1) sub 23:00 5K
2) 2 of the following 3 (don't think i can manage all 3 in the same year)
a) sub 4:00 marathon
b) first 50K
c) Grand Canyon R2R
3) get some more east coast state high points - Mt. Marcy, Mt. Mansfield, Clingman's Dome, Mt. Mitchell, Brasstown Bald, Sassafrass Mt.
also, possibly considering another late summer/early fall CO trip with some 14ers on the agenda, depending on travel/vaccine status
more importantly, the following goals will hopefully be unique to this coming year:
1) stay COVID-free until there's a vaccine
2) get the vaccine
3) try to pay a lot less attention to news/politics.... should be much easier after 1/20
50K's are great man!!! Good luck with that. I completed a few of those back in the day.
I share your goal of Grand Canyon R2R, but it isn't realistic for me to get it done in 2021.

Hahahaha, that's funny. Personally I would push that line west past the outskirts of Denver. (And draw a little exception circle around Burlington, right on the KS border.)

I should think so, since you live in the "good part".

I live in Oklahoma, so I can't do much until I move to Colorado (I WILL move there) after college. In the mean time, just one trip every summer for me. My goal for this summer is to
backpack the Chicago basin and summit every 14er accessible from the basin.
I have so many goals, few of which will be realized - but I think that's a good thing. Hopefully, I'll get to guide in some way/shape/form, as well as work on some landscape photography skills.
I'll be looking for partners for another go at the Centennials. When Spring comes, I'll do another call-for-partners, but if you're looking for a partner for some of the harder Cents (both rock and snow climbs), I'll be trying to have myself available.
10,000’ of uphill in the backcountry with my powder skis and finish in time to pick the kids up from school.
Day trip Snowmass in the spring.
Get few more of the more difficult 14er ski descents in.
Hopefully finish skiing the Sawatch.
Not get furloughed.
Summer and Fall TBD

My goal is to find a job which pays a living wage.
Failing that I'll move the rest of my meager belongings into storage and be homeless from 1 May - 31 Oct. I'll car camp and backpack and climb as many 13ers as I can while working weekends in the metro area. I hope to sleep above 12k for 30+ nights next year.
In the interim I'll climb more 14ers this winter. Idealistic goal is 12 more. Realistic goal is 6 more.
1. Get healthy/diligently work on my sciatic pain and knee pain
2. Responsibly ramp up my workload into 2021 to avoid further injury
3. Finish the 14ers (12 to go!)
4. Crestone Traverse
5. Tenmile Traverse
6. Finally get into the "mountain range north of 70 that should not be named publicly" for a summit or three
7. Grab a UT summit
8. Grab a summit in Medicine Bow
9. Push for a new bench press PR before summer season or after summer season if healthy

so I don’t look like an idiot
Yeah, it sucks to look like an idiot. Like when someone makes fun of people who have accidents or need SAR and then that person needed to have SAR come get them and their dog out of a mine shaft because they got off route on a pretty easy mountain. Boy did that guy look stupid! You don't want to look like that.

1. Get out when I can
2. 13ers- probably lots
3. Convince myself that mountains in the snow can be fun
4. Get back on some technical rock
5. Take proof of my summits so I don’t look like an idiot

You have my word that I'll stop being a little shithead, all someone had to do was ask.
I wonder how many times one needs to be asked before it takes hold?
Should consider adding that to your signature.

I hope to snow climb some Elk 13ers near you (hopefully with skis). I’ll let you know when I’ll be in the area. Only downside is that I’m usually a midweek type.
