It survived water to the door handles at the Rockdale creek crossing, hitting a deer head-on at 72mph (I drove home), and somehow made it over Hancock Pass and down to St. Elmo (not recommended for a stock vehicle with or without a spotter).
Approaching 300k miles on its 5th set of BFG ATs, second clutch, and little maintenance, it will continue as my daily driver until it won't.

The FJ will be my next off-road vehicle I get once mine goes to the boneyard. As they don't make Xterra Pro-4X's anymore :(
When I was doing research before I got my Nissan Xterra Pro-4X they said there were only three vehicles that were built for off-road from the factory. Jeep Wrangler, Toyota FJ, and the Nissan Pro-4X. The only reason I got the Nissan over the other two was size. I can laydown to car camp a little easier in my Nissan. But they stopped making them so my next one will be the FJ.

The 2016 Tacoma SR5 with V6 and 4wd in the first two photos was my rig until September 5th, 2022, when I hit a deer and totaled it on my way to Colorado to hike. I replaced it with the silver 2022 Tacoma SR5 V6 4wd in the third photo. The new pickup will receive its initiation this summer.

Someone had to post a Forester, right? Stock Forester with a sleeping platform built in the back. Just barely fits a full 4" memory foam topper. Finished it near the end of last season, so this year should be the real test.

Thanks! Love my truck. I've actually done all the work on it myself. I'm a self-described YouTube mechanic in that I can do just about any work on my truck as long as there's a YT video that shows me how. And with Tacoma's, there are tons of DIY YouTube videos.

I'd not worked on cars much before until I bought this truck, but want to keep it until the wheels fall off so figured this was the time to start. The money I've saved on shop labor has allowed me to acquire a pretty decent set of tools too.

1999 Tacoma. Old enough to drink.

Our youngest son drove it to high school last year and said he didn't have to lock it up in student parking -- nobody else can drive a stick anymore.

2008 2500 Burb.
About a 2in Lift with 33s.
Big enough I can sleep flat. Wanted it to be "trailhead ready" before leaving the house, no setup.
Lots of storage, see the video.

The canopy and a propane firepit are just awesome.
