23/24 Ski Partners

Post by tsizz77 »

Yes, this is a ridiculously early post, but looking to keep certain goals in sight, and hoping to accomplish them with a few of you awesome ski mountaineers. I’ll try and make this short, but I already know it’s going to get a little bit long, so bear with me.
Was previously on this forum as tsizz, but as I haven’t logged in in a few years, it appears my account was deactivated so this is my new login. I’ve only ridden (I’m a splitboarder, please don’t hate 😬) about 12 of the 14ers, but would like to ride as many as possible. To do them all has been a goal for quite some time. I lived in Silverton for over a decade up until recently (all that Covid money came in and priced me out of there lol), so now living in Pagosa Springs. Rode many a line both solo and with awesome partners, for which I will always be grateful.
Anyone else out there looking for partners and/or are willing to let someone join their group from time to time? I’ve done many of them solo, so I don’t have an issue with that, but would definitely prefer partners on some of the more exposed Technical adventures. :) Admittedly, a consistent partner or group of partners is obviously ideal, but I’ll take what I can get as I’m looking to have some fun in the backcountry with other folks, and also be held accountable for showing up and doing my part, as I haven’t been the best self-starter in the past couple of years :) While technically proficient, I’m not the fastest on the skin track, but hopefully I can keep up :)
In this world of cruel and snarky remarks, please keep them to yourselves, I’m just looking for some people who are psyched to experience the fun and beauty of the mountains…oh, and schralp the gnar too of course 😁

I would say not too early because the 22/23 season is still going (albeit probably the last weekend)! I am potentially trying to find a partner to ski Lamb's Slide Couloir in RMNP on the 4th or maybe some time later this week. Let me know if that would be interesting. There is also an opportunity to climb Long's from this route.

The key is to sing "Schralping the Gnar" to the tune of "Breaking the Law" Ala Beavis and Butthead before dropping into sick lines.

Live in Estes and will be skiing RMNP all winter again. If anyone is around and looking for someone to ski with, reach out.

I'm in Golden and I've got a laundry list of objectives for this year. Big and small. Not many 14ers left that I really wanna ski with the exception of cables, landry, stammy, snake, and a few others. Several non-14er lines I'm going for tho! My repertoire includes skiing Rainier, Cross couloir, dead dog, dragons tail, and several more. Happy to talk about lines any day. Reach out if interested!

Will be splitboarding pow all winter, transitioning to 13ers come March - June. Maybe a few snowflakes if things line up. Located in the Front Range, but flexible to travel, looking to smash the SJs come April/May (unless the PNW get slammed, volcanoes anyone?). No ski pass, but usually get out 1-3 days per week. Hit me up. Skiers + splitboarders welcome, prefer to do a day or two in low angle meadow skipping before bigger objectives with new partners. Slowshoers will be mocked endlessly but lent a splitboard setup, I have plenty of extra gear if you're nice

I saw this and got excited and then remember which site I was on. If anyone likes chairlifts I have a Monarch pass. The Mirkwood hike is more my style in the winter. :)
There's more to life than 14ers. There are 13ers.

We are planning on snowboarding our last ID 12er in April and would also like to do Mt Hood. That is two trips we are doing this spring, will keep you in the loop if you would like.

Totally game. You know I'm a sucker for ID. I've got a handful of first descents on my radar for out out there

If you want to do some volcanoes I'm looking at Adams, Hood, and Shasta for the spring.

Haven't you all heard? The PNW isn't going to get ANY snow this winter.
