I'll be 80! For the 2017 TSE, I guess folks on the Teton summits could see the shadow approaching up the valley. That would be super cool to see. I'm going to Texas for the 2024 TSE. Although limited to 400 feet AGL, I'm hoping my drone can catch the shadow approaching...

The mountains are further than 15 minutes away and if you don't have a permit to leave your assigned zone then your electric car won't start anyway, much less auto drive you there.

Maybe you could ride a bike but you'll be too weak from eating manufactured fake meat and insects to put up much of an effort.

I’ll be 76 then but just like the one in 2 weeks, I’ll likely sit it out. The experience I had in 2017 in Wyoming was so amazing, so perfect that for me, I don’t think it can ever be replicated & I don’t even want to try.

Interesting - our experience in 2017 was similar - absolutely mind-blowing. But that's why we're making the effort to view the April one. I'm eagerly anticipating it to be just as incredible as the 2017 one.

I guess there’s your way of looking at it too, it could be just as great, or, given that it’s twice as long in duration, maybe it will be twice as amazing. I’ll be curious to hear how everyone enjoys this one.

Yeah, I'm not real optimistic about seeing that one, as I'll be 89 (close to 90) by then. In the unlikely event that I'm both still alive and able to climb mountains by then, it looks like Mt. Ouray (centennial, not 14er) will be very close to the center line. If able to drive, but not climb Pike Peak might be an otpion, though I expect it to be crazy crowded for that.

I was on one of the Teton summits, and although I thought the shadow line would be slow enough to see, it was too smoky. Still an incredible experience.

I saw the 2017 eclipse from the Divide a few miles south of Union Pass. I could definitely see the shadow on the peaks of the Wyoming Range just before totality.
