Re: Maroon Bells Reservations
Not that this is helpful now, but when you book campsites they give you a special link to book parking as well. I think they hold a special bank of parking spaces that go along with the camp sites. So in general, it is easiest to book the camping first if you are planning to backpack the 4-pass loop or similar.

It's the other way around. Book your backcountry permit and you get a parking permit. You have to still pay for the parking permit but it comes with a campsite.
I should be on a mountain

Does anyone know when September reservations open? Looks like they're all gone now for July/August.

Re: Maroon Bells Reservations
I have a parking permit for June 26th (overnight) as well as 4 dispersed camping spots in the Maroon Zone for the 26th. It's a weekday, but if anyone can get the time off, feel free to PM me. Not trying to charge anyone, just looking to help out others who may have missed the boat.

Re: Maroon Bells Reservations
Apr 2nd for parking reservations for July 1 to August 31. Most non-Saturday dates still available.denvermikey wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 12:47 pmMay 1strmcpherson wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 12:28 pm Does anyone know when September reservations open? Looks like they're all gone now for July/August.
May 1st for parking reservations for September 1 to October 31.
June 15th for camping reservations for August 1 to November 30.
The parking reservation and camping reservation are two seperate processes with different dates. August/September camping reservations are not yet available while July dates filled up quickly when they became available on Feb 15.
See Maroon Peak route description for an overview of the processes
https://www.14ers.com/route.php?route=maro1
Details:
For a Maroon Bells day trip, you will need parking reservations via aspen chamber of commerce website
https://aspenchamber.org/plan-trip/trip ... servations
Parking reservations are going fast, but there are still many non-Saturday 24 hour parking reservations available for July thru August (just became available today). There are also some Saturday midnight to 4:30pm (and corresponding evening) reservations still available in August.
September/October parking reservations become available May 1st.
New this year: some additional permits will become available 3 days in advance.
Alternatively, you can get to the lake via shuttle bus, bike, ebike or early morning dropoff from a friend (but not Uber or Taxi).
For a Maroon Bells overnight trip (and other areas of the Maroon Snowmass Wilderness, including Capitol Lake, Snowmass Lake and all parts of the four pass loop), you will need a camping reservation from recreation.gov for a specific campsite or area
https://www.recreation.gov/permits/4675333
Reservations for April 1 to July 31 became available on Feb 15. July went quickly--but check back and you may find a cancellation. Plenty of May and early June dates are available for snowy hikers.
August 1 to November 30 dates become available on June 15.
If you are starting your overnight trip from Maroon Lake, when you get your camping reservation, the process will also allow you to make a parking reservation.
In all driving cases, you must arrive before 8am or after 5pm.

Re: Maroon Bells Reservations
In my experience booking parking passes and backcountry permits last year, this actually wasn't true. Yes - when we booked our Crater Lake campsite, there was a link in the confirmation email for a parking pass, but that just took us to the Aspen Chamber Maroon Lake parking pass reservation website. And of course, all the parking passes for our Crater Lake campsite dates were already taken. We had already booked a parking pass so we were good but still, I wouldn't wait for the camping permit to get a parking pass.CheapCigarMan wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 11:45 amIt's the other way around. For additional reference, I detailed my experience navigating all these logistics in my 3-part Bells/PP TR here: https://www.14ers.com/php14ers/triprepo ... trip=22290
