Looking for Mountaineers Who Have Attempted Peaks Above 6,000 m

Post by cormacz98 »

Are you a mountaineer, age 18 or older, who has attempted or successfully climbed a peak over 6,000 m? If so, you can provide valuable information for a new study being conducted through the University of Washington.

We are a group of physicians and experts in high altitude medicine, conducting a survey study to investigate the current practices around the use of hypoxic training systems. If you meet the above criteria, we are seeking your participation whether or not you have ever used these training systems.

If you are willing to participate in our anonymous on-line survey, please use the link below to access more information and take the survey itself.

filled out your survey, i believe a few expedition operators are advertising these to their clients with a shorter overall expedition, however they are also combining use of the tent with copious amounts of supplemental oxygen (~8L/min) on the actual climb. anecdotally i do not think use of the altitude tents make any difference at all
