I dunno, but Deftones new single, "My Mind is a Mountain," drops today at 4 pm Mountain. Can't find the link on YouTube but here's a sample from Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1GTkdJJTou/
Sounds... amazing. Goes harder than their usual stuff?
Actually, I just thought of a song I do sing on summits. And it's by the Deftones! Only instead of singing Shove It! Shove It! Shove It!, I sing Summit! Summit! Summit! I've texted that message to my emergency contact, along with a link to that song, from a few peaks to let them know I summited.
Widespread Panic: Climb to Safety
Jimi Hendrix: Wind Cries Mary (and sometimes screams)
Allman Brothers: Dreams "Went up the mountain to see what I could see"
Billy Strings: Thunder
Led Zeppelin: Misty Mountain Top
Grateful Dead: Brown Eyed Woman "Sound of thunder with the rain pouring down...Snowed so hard the roof caved in"
and Jack Straw "Keep on rolling, my old buddy, you're moving much too slow"
String Cheese Incident: Colorado Bluebird Sky
Oingo Boingo: Dead Mans Party "Walking with a dead man over my shoulder"
"A couple more shots of whiskey,
the women 'round here start looking good"
Hard to Pick a favorite but I have done Pyramid twice and loved it both times. I switch up my music a lot, but a favorite I often default to while hiking/climbing is Wolfmother. The easy answer is their song Pyramid, but 10,000 feet goes with every mountain as well. All of their music is epic! Beautiful days, mighty peaks, good music; it makes me feel alive
It wasn't my favorite 14er per se, but driving the dirt road towards the highway with Kit Carson in the rearview listening to Bruce Cockburn's 'Kit Carson' song gave me goosebumps.
"Until at last he smote his enemies ruin across the mountainside"

"Well, how come you only want tomorrow
With its promise of something hard to do
A real life adventure worth more than pieces of gold
Blue skies above, sun on your arms, strength your stride
And hope in those squeaky clean eyes
You'll get chilly receptions everywhere you go
Blinded with desire, I guess the season is on"

Mmmmmm, I really love that one!
It would totally fit on a playlist with “The Waiting,” imho.
The entirety of Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) is a mood, as the kids (used to) say, especially in relation to fourteeners for me. It’s still one of my all-time favorite albums and one I enjoy listening to on a hike, but wow did I spend a lot of time feeling like I was going “Up the Hill Backwards” toward the end of my list-chasing!
"I'm not selling drugs, dude. Drugs sell themselves. I'm selling stoke!"
- Guy at the table next to mine at Alta's Slopeside Cafe, in what I can't help but selfishly hope were (will be?) his verbatim words to the arresting officer(s)

Man, I kind of forgot all about that album. (And I own it! s**t... I own nineteen Bowie albums. Just haven't listened to them in a while.) Need to throw that one on the old record player today.
Also, it's great seeing all the love for Pyramid! Only did it once, but definitely my favorite. The views. Variety of the terrain. Plus, it was just a good day out with awesome people.
