This came up yesterday and I can't find a photo on the .com. Does anyone remember the "nun" hiker dressed in black with white face paint, carrying a staff. Looking for a photo or a web link with more info.
I failed on the Google as well.

Nope, it's a guy with face paint and the last time I saw him on a 14er was probably 15 years ago. I find a mention on Facebook from a long time ago but not photos or links.

I know who you are talking about and remember it but I can't find anything more either.
Might have scrubbed themselves from the internet at this point?

MountainHikerette dressed as a nun for the 2011 Quandary Halloween hike. No staff or facepaint. I can post a picture on the FB group. The .com is dragging real slow for me today.

Are you talking about Sister Who? This isn't my pic, but I pulled it from the Facebook group. It's one of my earliest memories from being on the page.

I saw her on a hike in the early 2000s. She also had a tv program on community cable, channel 55/57.

Man... imagine being solo and running into him at 4am in the woods. I'd probably have a borderline heart attack.

Yeah I was waiting for someone else to say it first but wow. There are already a few things that would cause me to conclude I don’t care about the summit and send me scurrying back to the trailhead. Bear cub, buzzing trekking pole, wind where I can’t stay on my feet, and conversations about work or politics. There’s been a new addition to my list.
“Is there a thing of which it is said, ‘See, this is new’? It has been already in the ages before us. There is no remembrance of former things, nor will there be any remembrance of later things yet to be among those who come after.” - Ecclesiastes 1:10-11

Holy hell. And I thought cow eyes gleaming back from a headlamp on the capitol creek trail at 2am were creepy.MaryinColorado wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 6:47 pm Are you talking about Sister Who?
