2026 Goals

- Add more states with a summit/state hp (12/50 so far).
- Add more Clear Creek County peaks to my tally.
- Try to cover more new ground in CO, setting no specifc goals here though.
- Maybe more county highpoints? We'll see.

Overcome my superstition that posting my goals might jinx them.

Since i didn't make my 2025 goals even though i didn't post them, i might as well post my 2026 goals:

- one new-to-her peak with my daughter (and hopefully more other hikes)
- one new-to-me 13er (hopefully more)
- one new-to-me winter 14er (or more, but one is fine)
- attempt one unclimbed peak (hopefully actually climb one, but an attempt is fine)

This is my now standing list of yearly goals, but the last two goals are now "or"; the others remain "and".

Texan here, with 41/58 starting in 2015. Usually I plan 1-2 summer hiking trips to CO each year. Hoping hit 50/58 this year to put me in a position to finish next year. Hoping to do the Chicago Basin 14ers, and finish the few remaining in the Front Range (Blue Sky, Bierstadt) and Sangre de Cristos (Needle, Kit Carson, Challenger).

Traverse Pikes Peak in January - up Barr, down Crags

3. Jagged and/or Wham Ridge (stuck on my final 4 Cents, would be great if I can get it done this year)- I’m usually a solo guy, but would welcome partner(s). I live in Denver and Leadville in case anyone has similar goals and would like to meet and talk about them.

Being able to knock out Culebra a couple weeks ago has put my goal of finishing this year within reach. I’ll need to be able to summit Snowmass in May and have good weather for my trips west into the fall.

At 67, my goals are to solo, day hike the top 30-35 14K mountains in the lower 48 before I can longer do it. I have done 23 of 35.

These are the ones I want to hopefully do this year

Mount Sneffels

Others that are not in the top 35 that I may do are Handies, Redcloud, and Sunshine.

During the June trip, I will meet my wife in Washington, for exploring Mount Rainer NP, below 10k.

I am planning on possibly 3 trips from Virginia in June, early August, and possibly late September
