Lets manifest some success with this post!
1) 1 day climb and ski of Rainier
2) Finish centennials (8 left, all in SJs)
3) 100+ unique ranked peaks (can be repeats from previous years)
4) Learn to backflip on skis
5) 12+ 13er/14er ski descents
6) Ski or climb a handful of routes with no available beta
Some impressive stuff. I assume you already know how to do a backflip? I can't do a backflip anywhere, but I imagine the process is something like this?
1) front flip in a bouncy castle
2) back flip in a bouncy castle
3) back flip on a trampoline or somewhere else that aids in your bounce
4) back flip from a diving board into a pool
5) backflip off a sand dune or something else that yields a soft landing?
6) backflip on skis.
1) install trd pro grille
2) demolish and rebuild upstairs bathroom
3) teach my 4yr old twins to ski
4) don’t sign up for any more ultras
5) eat a little (not dramatically) better
6) do a couple new 13ers
Starting to wonder if I need to switch to a dad forum and not a mountain combining forum! Happy holidays!

I've been able to do standing backflips on ground for many years before I could ski. It took me a long time to learn but I was a kid with a trampoline when I first figured them out. Growing up in VA I never skied until I moved here so now those skills are just catching up haha.
I think being able to do a clean layout on a trampoline seems more important thana tucked standing for learning on skis, but what do I know, I haven't done it yet

" Don’t be afraid to move out of your comfort zone. Some of your best life experiences and opportunities will transpire only after you dare to loose."
1. Ski new terrain (the Cirque @ WP, East Wall at A-Basin, copper three bears terrain)
2. Leadville Heavy Half, 3rd finish, 1st time under 4:00
3. Hike to the Huldujökull glacier in Iceland
4. Make the hike/trail run to summit Keipan in Gerainger, Norway and make it back to the ship in time to avoid the wrath of my MIL
5. Complete the Sawatch 14ers
6. Run a 50k trail run
7. 5 summits above 13k with my teenage daughters, at least one Class 3
Stretch:
- AIARE 1
- Quandary ski descent
- Land a 360 off a rail in the park
1. Hope to get half of my 16 remaining bicents. Storm King/Silex group will be a priority.
2. At least one new state highpoint. Gannett Peak and Kings Peak are on the top of my list.
3. Saguaro NP and Chiricahua NM in April.
1. A few trail ultras
2. A few trail rucks
3. A few 14ers, hopefully more than a few
4. Get high, preferably in Peru (like, not that high, just higher than I've been) LOL
5. Keep at it
Ahh, always forgot to log in in winter to write these out, but curious to see how much I stick to this come summer
14ers - stretch goal to finish all cl 3+
1. Wilsons + chi basin (+maybe throw in Peters Traverse and other deep Wemi stuff while around the Weminuche)
2. Little Bear
3. Bells
13ers and below
1. More Front/Tenmile ridgelines - Arrowhead-McHenrys, Iroquois-Apache, Wheeler-Northstar
2. More Gores - Peak C, Eagles Nest, etc.
3. Big HCW ridge runs on & around 13085/13002 area
4. Continue poking around on Zirkels/Sawtooths ridges
Other
1. Get some BC ski days in (just got AIARE 1)
2. Get out in the packraft more (Roaring Fork, more Upper C, more Ark + take swiftwater rescue)
3. Actually finish writing out a TR instead of just writing half complete drafts
At 51 on the checklist my goals are pretty simple and straightforward. Get to 57 and look ahead to 2026 and the finisher at Pikes.
Oxford
Sunlight / Windom
Crestone
El Diente
Snowmass
Also, to basically be in better shape than I was this past year, both mentally and physically, and to follow through on every plan that I make.
