My husband and I are going to be climbing Handies East Slope in the middle of August. We would like to start around 3-4am so we can get to the peak by sunrise. Is there camping at the trailhead?
Thanks!

East Slopes shares trailhead with Redcloud/Sunshine and has plenty of camping. Enjoy a great scenic hike!

No they won't. But it still isn't anywhere near as crowded as the TH campsites further east in the state. At least that has been my experience. I may be heading that way next week, I'll give an update and probably a TR for Sunshine and Redcloud when I come home.TravelingMatt wrote:You won't be alone.
Seems like the times that I need a mountain the most are the times that I can not get to them.

I'll look forward to that. Heading that way the 26th to camp and climb. Been told the wild flowers are sweet down that way right now.
