Frisco Park-n-Ride?

Post by fahixson »

If I'm picking someone up in Frisco for a long weekend, is there a place they can leave their car?

We've used the Kayak lot before, which allows overnight parking, but limited to 24 hours. According to the CDOT Bustang schedule/map, Frisco Transfer Station does not allow overnight parking and the signs at Safeway/Walmart say no overnight. Suggestions?

I've left my car in the Walmart lot overnight when going skiing further down I-70, there are always a couple RVs there. I've heard that one night is fine, not sure about a long weekend.

I'm pretty sure most streets downtown (off Main) allow you to park for however long you want...

I live in summit county - i've parked my car for days at the park n ride in Frisco to take the shuttle down to the airport... however, that was a few years ago and could have changed. I can't remember seeing signs back then saying no overnight parking.

There are a few spots off the east end of main street that were safe to leave overnight, I can't remember exactly where... but definitely not for more than overnight I'm sure - but the other parking spots in Frisco are all no parking after 2am-6am so I don't recommend that. You could always park at the kayak lot and call the Frisco police dept dispatch and request a no tow for the car, but that may not be guaranteed either... however they do seem to be pretty accommodating if you give them a heads up. I'd give them a call and they might just tell you it's ok.

I'd offer up parking at my place off main street in Frisco but just moved over to Silverthorne... I'm going to shoot you a PM as I might have another idea for ya

I have a place you can park near our project trailers, but I'd have to explain how to get there.

There is a trailhead just south of Frisco on the Highway towards Breckenridge. Some people park there overnight.

Starting Sunday night and for three months I have a condo at Copper Mountain where you should be able to park, but I assume you need it this weekend.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

Thanks Scott, that's very kind. I'll follow-up with you and jenren81 via PM later. Our planned outing is not until next weekend.

I've left [old, rusty] cars at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Frisco for several days at a time, and slept in my car many nights before a big pow day. They prefer you park on the south side of the building. I most recently left my car for three days on a San Juans trip a couple months ago with no issues. Call their customer service line to confirm for your peace of mind, but they've always been pretty friendly about it.
